Every session that I have the privilege of shooting brings its own energy, learning experiences, and magic along with it. This embodiment session lands close to my heart as Sarah and I celebrated the divine feminine, womanhood, and sacred practices together. Fittingly, we shot on Mary Magdalene’s Feast Day which felt rather aligned.

I have known Sarah for years and have always admired her peaceful presence and the way she seems to float through space and radiate a magnificent light. No really, if you witness her it’s as if she carries a glowing light with her wherever she goes! When I reached out to her about what she wanted to portray through her embodiment session, I was so excited to see what she had in store, as I know that creativity is one of her strong-suits. We have shared rich conversations on what it means to embrace the feminine and embody the full spectrum of womanhood, a transformational journey that we have both recently been on in our own lives.

For our photoshoot together, Sarah wore a flowy, floral robe and adorned herself with simple yet striking jewelry. I loved the simplicity and rawness that she allowed me to witness and capture - bare skin, hair pulled back, and her natural beauty. A really beautiful reminder that as women, we do not need to be all dolled up in order to embody femininity and embrace our true selves. We are beautiful in every form of our expression, whether that is a wild woman covered in mud, a seductress adorned in her favorite lingerie, or stripped bare and holding nothing back in our own vulnerability.
She shared with me that this was her first solo photoshoot and as we continued to shoot, Sarah opened up and continued to flow and embody a soft, gentle presence. Sarah brought several meaningful items along with her and she took the time to setup a beautiful altar in the woods dedicated to Mother Mary. I was absolutely honored to capture such a sacred and meaningful ceremony and watched in awe as she dressed the altar with flowers, stones, shells, and candles. I continued to shoot as she held a space of gratitude and reverence for the divine feminine.

During her burning ceremony where she burned her list of fears and anxieties that she had written down at the beginning of our time together, I was reminded that while the feminine is gentle and soft, she is also fierce and strong. There is nothing quite like witnessing a woman blossom into her authentic self - breaking through stereotypes and burning down barriers.
Remember darling, being a woman is a gift and you are allowed to express every aspect of her ❤️
